This is my first post as a blogger so bear with me.  I just wanted to talk to the beginner knitters and those who are learning to crochet.

I find in teaching beginner lessons students become a little frustrated.  I just wanted you to know there is a learning curve.  No one expects you to be perfect right away. Some students pick it very quickly, but others take some time.  If you have a passion and really want to learn, stick with it.

Your first project is not going to be perfect, nor should it be.  Those of us who are knitters or who have crocheted for a long time still make mistakes. I have been knitting for 50 years and I still make mistakes.

So I hope this short post gives you some encouragement to keep trying, you'll get there.  There are so many great benefits to the needle arts, most of which is meeting new people that share the same passion you do.  So visit your local yarn shop (lys), there is a wealth of knowledge and help. Take a lesson or a class and connect with other fiber artists.

So relax and enjoy this wonderful world of fiber arts, it has come a long way!
